Kevin Parker has more than 15 years experience as a school psychologist. Mr. Parker divides his time equally between Maury and Brent Elementary School; he is at Maury all day Mondays and Wednesdays, and on Friday mornings.
A native Washingtonian, Mr. Parker is the product of Montessori schools and is a graduate of St. John’s College High School in upper northwest Washington. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland and earned his master’s degree in Educational Psychology from American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts. Mr. Parker is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
Mr. Parker began his career as a school psychologist in DC Public Schools in 2002 at Garfield Elementary School. In 2009, he founded Parker Diagnostic Solutions, an educational consulting firm that represented students with disabilities. In 2013, Mr. Parker returned to DC Public Schools. In his free time, Mr. Parker enjoys coaching little league football, and is an avid sports fan. He also enjoys watching historical documentaries and designing web sites.
