Nathan Havner, Second Grade Teacher

Shannon Donnelly, Third Grade Teacher: Ms. Donnelly comes to Maury with six years of elementary teaching experience in charter and public schools in Washington, D.C. and New York City. She began her career in education through the Teach for America program. She received her BA in French and Human and Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University and her Masters in Education from Pace University. A native Washingtonian, Shannon loves to enjoy the restaurants and sights of the city and spend time with her family. Shannon is incredibly excited to join the third grade team at Maury.

Amber Scott, Third Grade Teacher: I love seeing students make cross curricular connections, it shows me that true learning is taking place both in their minds and in their lives.  I was initially attracted to the teaching profession, once I learned of the impact that a single teacher could have on the educational outcomes of students in inner city public schools. While I still believe that is true, I am inspired to stay in the classroom because of my students. I learn more from them each day about what makes each of us special and unique as individuals.
