Grade Level Organization: Maury Elementary School is divided into grade levels according to the following groupings:
- Early Childhood Grades: Pre-school and Pre-kindergarten
- Primary Grades: Kindergarten, 1, 2
- Intermediate Grades: Grades 3, 4 and 5
Students are grouped heterogeneously in self-contained classrooms in grades pre-school through 5. Consideration is given to special needs, male-female ratios, instructional levels, ethnic and racial diversity, and group dynamics. Parents are encouraged to write the principal a letter describing their child’s strengths, needs, and personality traits. Letters are accepted in the spring and will be considered for the fall placement. Students will be informed of their teacher’s name the week before school starts.
