Maury Book Club

The Maury Book Club is a chance to go deeper into Maury’s Five Stances through books and resources for all ages. Read a book (or watch a video) and have a discussion—at home, with adults at school, or both! Please join us at our next meeting on Thursday, November 21 at 5 pm (before PTA).

This month’s theme is Resilience.

Discuss with other adults at the book club on Thursday, November 21 at 5 pm (before PTA).

Want to talk more at home? Here are some discussion starters:

  • How resilient are you? How resilient are your kids? Do they tend to bounce back from failures, or do they tend to wallow in it? Do they give up at the first sign of trouble?
  • What can you do to help them be more resilient? Do you model resilience yourself? Are you surrounding them with books where the central characters model it?
  • Take quick inventory of some of your children's favorite books . . . what is the central message of these books? Does it align with your values? Is it in line with who you want your child to grow up to be?
