WHAT: Literacy Lab Parent Workshop for Family Members of Emerging Readers
DATE: Wednesday, April 9
AUDIENCE: Parents of children in preschool, pre-K, and Kindergarten (children should remain in aftercare)
TOPIC: The Nuts and Bolts of Learning to Read
This workshop will provide parents with strategies to help their children as they learn to read. Topics covered will include strategies for sounding out words, practicing sound and letter knowledge, learning sight words, and building word attack skills. Parents will have a chance to have their questions answered and will leave this workshop with hands-on ideas to put into practice.
These workshops are really fun, helpful and informative. Please come!
