Literacy Night (Nov 6)

UPDATED 11/6 11AM:

Literacy Night will take place tomorrow from 6-7:30pm.  We will meet together in the multipurpose room for a dramatic re-enactment of Little Red Riding Hood before splitting off into stations.  We will have separate stations for Preschool-1st and 2nd-5th grades as well as some all-ages stations.  After three stations, everyone will meet back together in the multipurpose room for a goodnight read-aloud by the principals.  Come in your pajamas!

Literacy Night is coming up on Thursday, November 6 and we need a few volunteers! Please let Emily Paterson know if you are interested in helping with any of the following:

  • Donating cookies and milk and/or helping to run one of the cookies and milk stations. We will need nut-free, dairy-free, egg-free, and gluten-free options.
  • This year each child will receive ONE ticket for cookies and milk which they must present to get them, so you won’t be seeing the same little Cookie Monsters over and over.
  • Help me with the Puppet Show station. I need a puppet theater, puppets, and an extra set of hands to puppeteer with me! We’ll do an easy, fun, fairy or folk tale.
  • Run the Character Mask station. This will be a simple art project involving paper plates, markers, and yarn or popsicle sticks. Each child will choose a book character they love and create a mask.
