Caitlyn Burns teaches special education across the pre-k and kindergarten grade levels. She joined the Maury team last year as a paraprofessional in a PK4 classroom, and is so excited to return this year in her new role! Before joining the DCPS and Maury communities, she spent time teaching in the public charter and private school systems. Born and raised in upstate New York, she obtained her B.S. in Human Development from SUNY Binghamton, before moving to Washington D.C. to pursue a Master of Arts in Special Education from American University.
Outside of school, she loves spending time outdoors, running, cooking, and reading.
