Amadi Hemphill teaches Kindergarten at Maury. She was born and raised in Washington, DC, and is a proud product of DC Public Schools. Ms. Hemphill graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Spanish. Currently, she is working on her Master of Education at Trinity University.
Ms. Hemphill is part of the Inspired Teaching Program, which emphasizes the idea that every child possesses the ability to think critically, learn and understand information, and solve complex problems. As an Inspired Teaching Fellow, she completed a year-long teaching residency with support from a mentor and master teacher.
Teaching has been a tradition in Ms. Hemphill’s family for years, and she is honored to be carrying on that legacy.
