Taeneress Griffin joined Maury as Assistant Principal in 2017 with over 10 years of experience in urban education. Ms. Griffin began her career in Prince George’s County Public Schools where she taught Grades 2–4 at Valley View Elementary School. She received the Excellence in Gifted and Talented Education Award from the Maryland State Department of Education and participated on the Prince George’s County math curriculum writing team during her tenure with the district. In 2011, she transitioned to DC Bilingual Public Charter School where she served as the Education Technology Coach, and most recently, STEM Coach. Ms. Griffin completed the New Leaders Emerging Leaders Program in the spring of 2017 and is currently completing her residency in the Aspiring Principals program.
Ms. Griffin holds a Master of Science degree in Education Technology from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in mathematics from The College of Saint Rose.
