Janine Levin has taught PK3 at Maury since 2010. While she is originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Ms. Levin has lived in the DC area most of her life. She attended Montgomery County Public Schools before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Goucher College, a Master of Education degree in Early Childhood Education from Towson University, and a Certificate in Teacher Leadership from The Johns Hopkins School of Education.
Ms. Levin started her teaching career at Brent Elementary where she remained for 10 years. She then spent one year working as a Master Educator for DCPS whereby she visited every public elementary school in DC and observed and evaluated Pre-K teachers. It was during that year that she came to Maury and decided to return to the classroom here.
Her classroom menagerie includes a turtle named Toothless, a snake named Sasha, and a parrot named Pickle.
