Camelia is excited to join the Maury Community in the 20-21 school year, teaching Special Education Math, across the third through fifth grade levels. She began her career working in nonprofit administration, transitioning to the role of educator in 2012. Camelia comes from New Orleans, by way of North Carolina, and has spent the past eight years teaching and working in special education coordination, in a wide variety of settings with grades K-8. She is passionate about ensuring all students have access to high quality instruction, the best ways to utilize data to guide student learning, and of course, all things math related!
Camelia holds a BA in Sociology of from University of North Carolina, a MA in Human Service Administration from University of Illinois-Springfield, and a MEd in Educational Policy & Leadership.
